Acrylic Gesso Primer for Painting Product Description

Prepare your surfaces for painting with gesso! Hyatt's acrylic gesso provides opaque primer coverage for artists. The gesso can be applied to canvas, wood, plaster, fabric, masonite, and most other smooth or textured surfaces as a primer for acrylic mediums. In addition to paint, gesso can also be used as a primer for other art materials such as tempera, crayon, ink, and pencil.

Our gesso is manufactured in the USA with a smooth, liquid brushing consistency that allows for even preparation of surfaces. When dry, the gesso is waterproof and creates a fine painting surface suitable for oil, acrylic, and watercolor painting. If a different color is desired, acrylic paint can be added. The containers have sealable lids to prevent the gesso from drying out.

This non-toxic acrylic paint primer meets ASTM-D 4236 safety standards.
